The Beatles had to perfect their craft in this seedy night club in Germany before they won over the UK.The Book Outliers by Malcom Gladwell mentioned it. It's funny you picture the Beatles being the "everyman band," but they perfected their craft in some seedy afterhours club. Not as wholesome as you thought.
